FIGARO – from the opera Le nozze di Figaro by Wolfgang Amadé Mozart – is at first rather naive but does indeed have all his wits about him. He is Count Almaviva’s valet. With a great deal of skill and of course aided and abetted by the “artful women”, Figaro succeeds in teaching the Count, who has his eyes on Susanna, a real lesson. A bright comedy with all sorts of intricate entanglements; finally with a repentant count and a happy ending. Werdenberger Schloss - Festspiele, St. Gallen, Switzerland
