LUTO and CHORISTA from the opera L’anima del filosofo by Joseph Haydn: Pluto is the ruler of the Underworld and gives Orfeo another chance to lead his beloved Euridice back to life as long as he does not turn around to look at her. That is the condition but Orfeo fails. As Pluto does not appear until the very end of the piece, it is also possible to play a second role in the same work, the CHORISTA. He is the narrator who tells the story.
