SCARPIA – from the opera Tosca by Puccini – is the unscrupulous chief of police of Rome, who tries, using all means – deceit, hypocrisy, intrigue as well as violence and torture – to seduce Tosca and to bring her lover Cavaradossi to the gallows. The role of SCARPIA is a huge challenge to sing and portray, accompanied by Puccini’s wonderful music.
